📒 Abstract:

Drawing on Gramscian and neo-Gramscian perspectives, this article analyses the critical 2008-2011 period in Turkish foreign policy by situating geopolitical change within broader transformations of hegemony, state-society relations, and political economy. It argues that the global economic crisis catalysed a shift from a strategy of expanded to limited hegemony, reconfiguring Turkey’s integration strategy and foreign policy orientation. The study conceptualises foreign policy as an outcome of historically contingent social and economic relations shaped by crisis and restructuring.
